| Jesus Saves Completely! |
What most professing Christians and religious people fail to understand is according to the Bible it is faith in The Lord Jesus Christ alone that saves us. The Bible is clear we are saved by grace, not works. Ephesians 2:8-9. Whitney Houston finished well because she believed well. To live is Christ and to die is gain.
The best of us as believers in Jesus fail daily. Jesus never fails. There is only one person that will wear the name faithful and true, and it's not me and it's not you. Jesus is the only one that will wear the name faithful and true for all eternity. If you believe on Jesus plus nothing else for your salvation, He got you! No matter what. He is faithful that promised. His eternal salvation is promised to all who believe on Him.
Whitney Houston publicly professed her faith in The Lord Jesus Christ repeatedly. The last song she sang two days before her death was, "Jesus Loves Me." Whatever her failings, whatever her sins, they were covered by the atoning blood of The Lord Jesus Christ because of her faith in Him. That is the promise of the scriptures. God is faithful.
I have a profound respect for Ms. Houston because even though she was aware of the public's knowledge of her failings, she continued to point the way, that Jesus is the way, the one she trusted in and relied on for her salvation. Despite the media's ridicule, public speculation and criticism, she had the courage to proclaim the name of The Lord Jesus Christ and her faith in Him.
In her own words... an excerpt from an article in Ebony Magazine, October 2009 Article:
"I shed a lot of stuff, a lot of unnecessary weight in the last three or four years. I left a lot of old luggage behind, and when I did the blessings just started pouring on me, and the light in my spirit lifted again." Whitney tells the magazine... "I am really humbled and I thank God that people love me, but I really thank God that God loves me. I thank Him for chastening my heart, for never letting go. What I did sometimes... when I went off and did my own thing, but He never let me go."
The scripture says " For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." Hebrews 12:6. Yes, Jesus did and does love Whitney Houston.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Whitney Houston, or even seeing her perform live, but she was a force to be reckoned with on stage, she had an incomparable voice, style, and presence. I know I will have the pleasure of meeting her one day in Heaven. I loved her because of her wonderful voice, her aggressive spirit, but most assuredly because of the proclamation of her faith in The Lord Jesus Christ. Any friend of Jesus, is a friend of mine.
Believe on Jesus, He is the savior of the world, He will forgive you for all your sin and reconcile you to Himself if you will trust in, cling to and rely on Him and Him alone for your salvation. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 1:9, Romans 10:9-10. Read the Gospel of John)
